The Journey

Being an ordinary sort of bloke and not doing much with my life since taking voluntary redundancy 2 years ago I decided it was time to get off my arse and do something rather than sit around and stagnate. Last year I had the idea of doing a charity ride and having recently bought a Gilera Fuoco thought that a sponsored ride around the coast of the UK mainland would set a personal challenge and enable me to raise funds for charity.

I shall be sticking as close to the coast as possible, following B roads in the main, but avoiding a couple of peninsulas and headlands where there is no through route. It will be a solo ride and I shall be staying in youth hostels for most of the trip in order to keep costs to a minimum.

I haven't set a target for sponsorship but am relying on the generous nature of bikers and the British public to raise an amount that will benefit my chosen charities.
